Lethadis is a twenty-two-year-old Vallerian elf who isn't at all interested in marriage, parties, dresses, or anything of the sort. Her younger sister Iranna, however, is another matter altogether. 

When the elven kingdom is attacked by orrocs and her sister goes missing, fitting into high society becomes the least of Lethadis’ worries. Swept away from Valleriath, she finds herself driven deep into enemy land, entangled with unexpected allies, and learning more than she ever would have dreamed about orrocs, her people’s enemies of old.
