Lethadis is not an elven lady... at least not the type that her mother wants her to be. Marriage is the last thing she dreams of, although the same can't be said of her younger sister, Iranna. 

   But when the unthinkable happens, and orrocs break into Valleriath, parties and suitors become the least of their worries. When Iranna goes missing in the melee, Lethadis must venture into the Orharroc, the land of their ancient enemies, to find her. 

   Swept away from Valleriath, she finds herself driven deep into enemy land, entangled with a vile and dubious ally, and learning that there is more to the supposedly savage creatures of the barren wilds than it seems.
